In 1947 when Pakistan was created,
a community of Hindus is dwelling there in Bir.
When riots are break out this community migrated to India. Pre-partition Bir was a trade center kind of thing, villagers from all around the villages come here to sell and buy. Bir remain "trade center" until the neighbor villages are connected with big towns and cities via roads.
A temple called Taram Saul is still there (Taram Saul is Hindko version of
word Dharam Shala which mean Hindu's worshipplace.)
& Sri Ghat too; local folks called it "Charian da Siran".
The word Bir is derived from word beera, which means button! button of shirts
qameez etc; In old days buttons are made with some special stones, and these
special stones are found common in this area, so by that connection this area
called Bir. (This comic is not authentic.)
Some remains are found in suburb area called Pohar, it is believed that these
remains belongs to Sher Shah Souri the great warrior. Another significant
thing is the ancient Graveyard, no body really knows that how old it is.
For further information about village history can find in book called Tareekh-e-Hazara
and book called Hazara gazetteer. (These books are limited to British colonial era.)
British made feudal lords are still enjoying their cruel position. That s all we know.
